About Us
Christopher Pollard Tours has been operating for 23 years, organising small group holidays and cultural breaks in Spain, Morocco, France and other European countries. This year we are delighted to offer a wider range than ever both in terms of destination and style of holidays.
These fall into a number of categories: the ’House Party’ is a group of maximum eight clients who will be staying in a small hotel in a particularly attractive urban or rural location and enjoying a carefully planned programme of cultural and culinary activities en famille, as it were; the ‘Grand Tour’ is a longer more extensive itinerary (maximum 16-18 clients) often involving an ambitious journey; then, the ‘Special Event’ holiday, focuses on an anniversary or an exhibition or a particular cultural event.
Whatever the format, all of the basic concepts that we have pioneered for well over 20 years, remain in place. Our holidays are all-inclusive (bar the odd coffee or drink). Chris Pollard accompanies all the tours personally. Clients are escorted throughout. We stay in excellent, characterful hotels and savour the cuisine of the region, whether in a local café or the best Michelin-starred restaurant. In particular, we offer an authentic, insightful experience whether we are on the coast of Galicia, the Loire Valley, the heart of Cornwall or the souks and mountains of Morocco.
Because of the reduced number of holidays and the size of the groups, we anticipate that many parties will fill rapidly. CHRIS POLLARD is a West Country man. He was educated in Devon and Durham, taught English in Spain and Spanish in Somerset. He has translated and directed for the stage and was a professional actor for three months. He lectures and continues to lead language classes. In 1990 he set up Pollard Tours which has operated successfully for over 20 years and received plaudits from every quarter.
Chris’s assistant is MONER LAACHIRI (known as MOSES). Born in Tangiers, Moses speaks four languages, studied at Granada University and for a Diploma in Tourism. He is an affable and thoughtful companion and comes into his own in Morocco when his presence opens many doors otherwise closed to the casual visitor.
