Is the 400th anniversary of the birth of one of the giants of the Spanish School: Bartolomé Esteban Murillo. We celebrate the art of this great painter visiting the principal London galleries which hold his works and then fly down to Seville, Murillo’s birthplace and the home of many of his masterpieces.
In London we shall be joined by experts from the National Gallery, the Dulwich Picture Gallery and the Wallace Collection who will illuminate our visit with their wise and insightful commentaries. This is a unique opportunity of getting to know an artist who has slightly gone out of fashion but was once considered the greatest Spanish artists of all time. What is beyond argument is that Murillo is one of the finest technicians of all time whose works can be appreciated on many different levels, often in the very churches for which they were painted.
The Tour begins in London’s White House Hotel (two nights) and continues to Seville on Day 3. Clients who wish to do only the London leg or only the Seville leg are very welcome to do so and the three prices are quoted at the end of the tour description.
