Andalusia has always appeared to lag behind many other Spanish regions in terms of gastronomic excellence but it now boasts two 3-star Michelin restaurants and a host of young chefs who are successfully combining the freshness and brilliance of local produce with innovation and audacious techniques.
Our base for four nights is the superb 5-star Hotel Duques de Medinaceli‚ located in a grand palatial mansion in the historic centre of the town.
Our tour takes in the full gamut of styles from the fried fish of Cadiz market to the
extraordinary inventions of Angel Leon at his 3-star Aponiente. Our base is El Puerto de Santa Maria‚ a town on the banks of the Guadalete and part of the Sherry Triangle.
We shall lunch in the best fish and chips shop in Spain and dine in the legendary El Faro del Puerto‚ the ground-breaking restaurant which‚ for 30 years‚ has carried the flag for the cuisine of the Province of Cadiz.
