It has been far too long since we offered a language course in Spain. I am delighted to announce a seven-day Spanish Course for those with a good knowledge of the language in the great city of Zaragoza.
As always, the language tuition will encourage the practice of the spoken word but will also contain an amount of formal instruction. We shall read the newspapers‚ follow current affairs on television‚ discuss the burning issues of the day‚ watch films and read poetry. There will be at least four hours of language-related activity every day.
Zaragoza is the quintessence of the underrated city. It offers a stunning range of attractions – major Roman remains‚ an extensive historic quarter‚ the finest Moorish building outside Andalusia the finest Mudejar cathedral in the world‚ a magnificent 18th-century Basilica‚ major art galleries‚ works by Goya and a museum dedicated to two eminent 20th-century sculptors.
We shall take two excursions; to the lovely city of Huesca‚ which boasts a fascinating medieval quarter‚ a gothic cathedral and a Michelin-starred restaurant where we shall take lunch, and to the spectacular mountains of Moncayo‚ where Antonio Machado wrote so much poetry.
